Ft. Boise Highland Games
Highland games are events held in spring and summer in Scotland and other countries with a large Scottish diaspora, as a way of celebrating Scottish and Celtic culture, especially that of the Scottish Highlands. They are a unique mix of the sporting, the cultural and the social, and usually comprise a program of field and track events, piping and Highland dancing competitions and ‘heavy events’ like the tug-o-war, the hammer throw and tossing the caber. They also include music, food and merchandise vendors, and often animals.
